[net.audio] Aiwa mini components

gig@ritcv.UUCP (gordon ) (10/18/85)

A few years ago I purchased some Aiwa mini components designed primarilly for
the European and Japanese home market. Like the buyers in Europe and Japan, I
was attracted to these components because they fit inobtrusively in the very
small quarters I inhabited. Despite their diminutive size, the seperate tuner,
amp, preamp and cassette deck are quite good and with a pair of little KEFs
it sounds very nice. The only problem is that I didn't get two other parts of
the system when they were still widely available and now I can't find them.
I'm trying to find a wireless remote control system (RC-R300U) and a timer
(MT-50U) for this system. These components were specifically designed for this
system and control functions that standard outboard controllers (such as AR's)
don't. Components are connected with 24 pin or DIN type remote cords. My local
Aiwa dealer does not stock them and says Aiwa no longer distribute these
components. These were never very common components in the US. Perhaps
someone in netland knows where I can find these components or has a suggestion
for how I can track them down. Used (in working order) would be just fine.
Help! Please reply by mail. Thanks for your help.
