[net.audio] Problems with SONY CD players

ker@mtuxn.UUCP (K.ROSER) (10/27/85)

After reading the summary of Sony CD Players posted on this net,
it seems to me that only the new Sony's are having problems. These are the
102, 302 and 520.

I myself have been a victim of a 302 player. It would "skip"
on 3 or 4 of my 10 disks. These disks would play flawlessly on any
other brand player, but WOULD FAIL on other 102s and 302s in the
displays at the stores. This to me indicates a problem with
the player not the disk.

It is my personal option that Sony has a quality control problem
on their new line of players. I admit that many people are completely
satisfied with their new Sonys, but I'm starting to hear too many
reports of problems on the new units.

I gave up on the Sony and have since bought another brand player
that has more features, cost less, and most importantly, doesn't
malfunction.

My personal recommendation is:

BEWARE OF THE NEW SONY CD PLAYERS, until we see a turn around in
the reports of problems on these units.

The above options are mine, and I welcome any responses.
