Everything Dick Pierce said in his original posting about Bose loudspeakers may well be true. Or it may not. Unfortunately, he has left us with no basis on which to judge other than taking everything he says on faith. Let's see. Dick Pierce says that at one time Bose used cheap components. I reply that this may or may not be true of their present products, and that surely we cannot be expected to take it on faith just because he says so. Here's what he says about that: > As to the assertion that Bose used grimly cheap components, well I would > simply suggest taking aprt representitive samples over their history, > looking at the parts, and seeing what prices they can be had for on the > OEM market. If Mr. Koenig has done just that, fine, let him march his > evidence out. What am I being asked for evidence to support? My claim that Bose does not use cheap components? I AM NOT MAKING THAT CLAIM! The only claim I am making is that Dick has not provided any evidence to support his assertion. And so it goes with everything I said about his article. The one time he said something that was demonstrably false, I called him on it. The rest of the time I just pointed out that just because he says something he believes to be true, that doesn't mean that everyone else has enough of a reason to believe it too.
