Recently, I began to read netnews and I think I can add to the net.audio discussion. My stereo system consists of mainly harman kardon components, a TEAC CD player, and a two-subwoofer Design Acoustics DA30 speaker system. Firstly, I plan to replace the TEAC with an hk CD player in the near future and I plan to bi-amp the DA30's or buy something else. I would appreciate any correspondence on speakers for around $1K (or less) or about the benefits of biamping. Please send mail directly to me. If anyone else is interested in the response, I will summarize and repost to the net. Finally, hk claims to use only discrete components in the signal path. I recently purchased an hk EQ8 equalizer, only to find op-amps in the cabinet. Surprise! Any comments? I heard op-amps may be superior in this application, but they sure put a hole in the hk philosophy. If you dislike hk equipment, send the flame to /dev/null. I had connections which made hk equipment so affordable as to be impossible to reject, and it sounds pretty good and works reliably.
