     HI folks! I thought that this information would be of interest
to at least some people on the net.What follows is a list of the
"underground" audiophile magazines. most of this information is
from the THE TWEAK SHOP. I make no claim as to the accuracy of this
info. Be warned, these people tend to believe inmany of the "stranger"
things that have been discused in thes net-exotic speaker cable, tubes,
etc. If you don't hold with these opinions, you might not enjoy some
of these.

    The most technically oriented of the undergrounds, the editor has
    devised his own test equipment and proceduresin an attempt to 
    correlate measurements with percieved sonics.

    One of the oldest of the undergrounds, technical reviews, subjective
    evals, interviews, etc. good CES coverage and new product announcements

    200+ pages published quarterly,reviewers highly indivualistic and
    opioniated. Has a very long and lively letters section, and does
    lots of record reviews, including pop music from an audiophile 
    point of view.

    Concintrates on affordable high end stuff. has the usual
    equipment reviews, etc. and practical tweaks for the lo-
    budget types (most of us I guess) 

The following company publishes three magazines aimed especally at those
who love to snort solder fumes. Magazines are Audio Amateur, Speaker
Builder, and Computer Smyth. All of them are focused on construction
of audio equipment, speakers, and computers, respectivly. All are
