*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE *** From: ariel!dan Subject: Pioneer compact disc/laser disc player 909 Date: Sep 8 86 Kevin at Berkeley.edu asked me about pioneer 909, my mail to him failed to be sent out, and I don't know his telephoen number, so I would like to answer him in the news. I also have difficulty to send mails to christopher of cornell!chow and bob of decwrl!crvax.dec.com!kaplow. I bought my 909 from a mail order house in Virginia. It costed me $807. The store: Starship Audio-Industries, 605 Utterback Store Road, Great Falls, Virginia 22066. Tel.: (703)430-8692 (703)450-5780. There is an article about 909 in Video Review July 1986 issue. You should be able to find the magzine in a public library, as I did. For Pioneer 900 and other laser disc players you can find from Video (different from Video Review) too. The resolution of 909 is 400, and that of Pioneer 900 is 350. Since 909 is my first laser disc player, as well as my first compact disc player. I have no way to compare it with other machines. The picture quality is much better than my new Canon 720HF VCR. The sound of compact disk seems very good. In short, I am satisfied. Pioneer Video: 200 West Grand Ave. Montvale, NJ 07645 (201)573-2000 Right now I am using a tv monitor to listen to compact disc of my 909, since I am waiting for my speakers and electronics. I can tell you more when all my equipments arrive. Daniel Chang c/o AT&T Information Systems 200 Laurel Av. ihnp4!{caelum|ariel}!dan Middletown, NJ 07748 USA (201)957-5472 Room 1B420
