[net.audio] audio bboard

phil@osiris.UUCP (Philip Kos) (09/26/86)

Just got Speaker Builder 3/86 in the mail today, and there's an ad from
Madisound (a speaker component and kit company in Madison, WI) for
their new bboard. They list programs for box design and response pre-
diction, files of driver specs and prices, and all kinds of other
goodies. And a surprise - among all the other listings are two which
read:

	AUDNET10.QQQ	7/15/86 News Net.Audio latest
					discussions squeezed
	AUDNET9.QQQ	7/09/86 Audio net discussions part 9
					/ can be typed on-line

While the descriptions aren't conclusive, I can make a good guess as to
the source of these files... (:-) (Wonder what all those BBS users
think of the "stereo brick" discussion...)

Anyway, FYI, here's the ad copy (reproduced without their permission -
I do hope they'll forgive me for this). There is no mention of a mem-
bership fee, so don't anyone construe this as a commercial announcement.

"Here is a list of Madisound's Uploads on the Audio Projects BBS 300,
1200 and 2400 baud 24 hours. (608) 767-2585

"Now running ROS-PC BBS software written by Steve Fox with a very user
friendly interface. It features on-line typing of squeezed files and
1K YMODEM protocol as well as normal XMODEM protocol.

"We are glad to see some nice new uploads including LOTUSBOX.WKS which
is a Thiele/Small program for box response which can be run within
LOTUS123. PAPERS.BAS is a BASIC listing for doing crossover network
optimization which still needs some input routines but looks very
interesting. We are collecting as much audio related software as we
can lay our hands (or modems) on but it's most fun to find out our BBS
users are writing it!"
