A coalition called GRAPE (Grassroots Rebellion Against Pro- vincial Extortion) has formed to protest the "callous, wanton, and flagrant disregard" for the rights of the people of Ontario by discriminating between liquor produced in Ontario, liquor pro- duced elsewhere in Canada, and liquor produced outside of Canada. Ontario wines have a mark-up of 45 percent, B.C. wines are marked up 85 percent, and imported wines are subject you a 110 percent markup. It is alleged that this contravenes the new constitution, the British North America Act (provinces are not permitted to set up barriers to inter-provincial trade), and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade which Canada has signed. The case is waiting to come to trial in St. Catherines, and GRAPE is looking for support. Particularly contributions of $5 or more. The address is: GRAPE, In Trust P.O.
