[ont.general] sf-lovers !!!

oz@yetti.UUCP (Ozan Yigit) (11/06/85)

Ok.. net.sf-lovers is gone, and I am in tears !! Considering that I
found more worthwhile sf to read thru this newsgroup than by any other
means, I would really like to see ont.sf-lovers [or perhaps can.sf-lovers,
in case this cut has an impact on other provinces]. How do we go about
creating it ?? Of course I may be over-estimating the number of sf-lovers
on the ontario side of the net, in which case this is null and
void, and you may safely tell me to go to North-Pole.

Sounds plausible to me. I strongly suspect that this is the way the
net will go in future, with the non-technical groups mostly local.

I think the only non-Ontario sites getting news through utzoo are the
folks in Newfoundland, who don't get most of the non-technical groups
anyway. Making it ont for the moment sounds reasonable.

Ozan having volunteered :-) for the job, I suggest that anyone wanting
ont.sf-lovers send mail to him (not to me, i.e. not using the reply
command!) saying so. Mail to utzoo!yetti!oz.

If Ozan gets enough mail, I'll set up the group on a trial basis. I think
we're a sufficiently small community that we don't need to be as fussy about
procedures for group creation as the net at large.

yes, I'd like to see this group. I've been reading net.sf-lovers, and,
like you, mourn its demise.
