Trade-in terminal must be in working condition. FST PST not included." --end-announcement------------------------------------------------------ NOTE: word has it that the deadline above is not firm. Also, they're not picky about whether the trade-ins work or not. This seems like an ideal chance to dump those old VC terminals for something better. The vc5220 acts vt220 compatible (so far). It has the same set-up screens and the same keyboard layout. (ESC and BKSP are still part of the programmable function keys so they don't operate in vt200 mode (groan)) Some "enhancements" have been added to the vc5220: eg. NOT having to use the SHIFT key for the programmable function keys (like a Vision II ?). Both two ports are standard RS-232. The screen is 14" (diag) and they come in amber or green. The units are made in the orient (Korea ?) and the manufacturer also makes the same type of terminal for Sperry (different color plastic). The vc5220 has a tilt and swivel screen with a relatively small base and a detached keyboard. Hope this helps P. Kern ..!{ihnp4,cbosgd}!utcs!pkern

Forgettest thou not that this means that they have copied all the DEC brain-damage, like the extra key between Z and SHIFT. We looked at what they were offering, looked at the prices, compared them to the prices of new un-brain-damaged terminals, and said "forget it". Even though we do have a substantial collection of V-C museum pieces. -- Henry Spencer @ U of Toronto Zoology {allegra,ihnp4,linus,decvax}!utzoo!henry
