We at the Law Society (Bar Admission Course and Continuing Legal Education) are into CAI (computer-assisted instruction) in a fairly big way, with a number of courses in place for our students and lawyers. We're looking at expanding and getting into new techniques for teaching law through CAI, including simulations. We may want assistance from companies or consultants who have experience in this field, since there's a lot of legwork involved in instructional design and programming (we have no problem coming up with the legal experts). We've had preliminary discussions with one company, Interactive Image Technologies (IIT - Joe Koenig), that is interested in doing such development work for us. I've also spoken with Brent Wallace of Niagara College, who has a company called Interactive Computer Technologies. I'd be interested in hearing from others in this field who would like to get involved with our work. Also, if you have heard about or worked with either of the above companies I'd appreciate your views on them. Incidentally, anything we develop will be in C and run under UNIX, as our present software does, and will be hardware-independent.
