Nobody came up with any major objections, and several people sent mail saying "sounds like a great idea", so I'm creating ont.archives. For those who didn't see the original discussion, this is intended as a place where local availability of software, documents, etc. can be announced, to minimize duplication of effort in getting stuff in from elsewhere. -- "God willing, we will return." | Henry Spencer at U of Toronto Zoology -Eugene Cernan, the Moon, 1972 | uunet!attcan!utzoo!henry henry@zoo.toronto.edu

Is "ont.archives" the appropriate place to ask questions about existing archives? i.e., do we get to ask "Does anyone have the Yale Star Catalog that was posted to comp.sources.unix last year"? And yes, I do want to ask that. :-) Reid -- Reid Ellis geaclib!rae@geac.uucp
