We had the usual 2+ hour wait for a cab home from downtown Ottawa on New Years. I was not at all impressed by the employees of the Chateau Laurier that decided that they would rather let polite people freeze outside than let them pop into the lobby to warm up a bit. I say these people have no goodwill or public relations savvy. I would have gladly been kicked out if there was even a single person there who was the least bit rowdy but everyone was just waiting calmy for cabs. There will never be enough cabs on New Years Eve; but it really burns me when people insist on making a bad situation worse. Did anyone else run into anything similar? May we should make a list of places to avoid staying. --cs Chuck Shnider Bell-Northern Research Ltd. (I froze for these opinions, so they're all mine)
