I am relocating from Toronto to the Hamilton area in the next two weeks, and was wondering if anyone could supply me with the number of a free (or reasonably inexpensive) public access Unix with Usenet access. A speedy reply would be appreciated. Failing that, is there anybody out there who knows the policy at McMaster and/ or other academic sites in the Hamilton area towards non-academic users. Thanks in advance. -- Paul Rocchi {uunet!mentor!lsuc, utgpu}!ncrcan!ziebmef!rocchi

Well I can't speak policy for the whole campus but the computer science department will only grant accounts to non-academics under special circumstances. Access to usenet does not qualify as a special circumstance. As of this time the campus does NOT have a general purpose Unix box which is available on a cash for resources basis. > >Thanks in advance. >-- >Paul Rocchi {uunet!mentor!lsuc, utgpu}!ncrcan!ziebmef!rocchi -- Dan Trottier dan@maccs.McMaster.CA Dept of Computer Science ...!uunet!utai!utgpu!maccs!dan McMaster University (416) 525-9140 x3444
