Toronto Star, October 22, 1989 Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come of the Quebec Cree in James Bay urged all Native groups to join the Algonquins of the Barriere Lake First Nation by blocking a logging road in an effort to protect La Verendrye Wildlife Reserve north of Ottawa.
