I have received a number of requests for information about getting the USENIX software distribution tapes. It turns out that the distribution tapes (of which there have been two in 1984) are automatically mailed to all Institutional and Supporting members who have the necessary licenses on file. So, if you haven't received your tapes and believe you should have, contact the USENIX office (415-528-UNIX). --peter gross USENIX tape librarian

In a previous article I erroneously said there had been two 1984 USENIX software distributions. The first of these was actually a 1983 distribution (which didn't get sent until '84). So please do not call the USENIX office because you have only received one 1984 tape.
