Just a note to remind everyone that Lou's article was written BEFORE my first meetings with the satellite carrier, and before various technical and non-technical issues had come into focus. Therefore, it in some respects represents relatively early speculation, rather than the current situation in its entirety, particularly regarding non-technical issues. There was considerable pressure on Lou from Usenix to put an article into ;login as quickly as possible, and the bulk of that article was written several months ago before the project had fully crystallized. One thing about this project is that it has moved rapidly enough that it has been difficult to keep written documents up to date. Even my paper in the upcoming Usenix proceedings (written a month or so ago) is already partially obsolete in both technical and non-technical respects. That's part of the reason for my update in Dallas. --Lauren--
