The brick is a block of plastique. You put it in the hole in the rusty box that you find up the volcanoe, stick the wire in, and light the fuse. Then go out of the room! The nailed door in the becomes the entrance into the living room that you take once the cyclopes knocks down the north wall. You can't open it yourself. There is a set of keys in the maze near the skeleton.
