[net.games] A few zork queries

I apologize if this article has already appeared at your site, but we have
been cut off from news for a while, and I think it got lost.  At any rate, I
didn't get any responses, so I'll try again.

I have a couple of questions about zork so I can solve the main puzzles and
get back to work:

	1) How do you get the egg open without breaking the canary?  People
	   have skirted around this lately, but nobody has given any
	   specifics.  I usually kill the thief first thing, but maybe I
	   should let him hang around for a while if he can be of service.

	2) How do you inflate the balloon?  Most things that burn don't seem
	   to fit into the receptacle.  There must be something I'm not
	   finding, or some secret I'm not solving.

With what I know, I have gotten a score of 453/560, which gives me the rank
of winner, but I have yet to do either of these things.  Can someone help me
before I get fired?

I did some experimenting with the egg and canary recently.  I didn't find
any way to open the egg other than giving it to the thief, and you don't
get any extra points if you let him open it.  (You lose points for opening
it yourself if you break the canary inside.)  I don't know if you get points
for opening the egg some other way.
