When Dec-10 Adventure first came out onto the Arpanet in the mid 70's it was very popular with several people playing on most machines every night. Everyone then came upon that last point problem and no one could figure it out. Then some intrepid soles at CMU (Joe Newcomer & Craig Everhart?) grunged around the machine code (!) to find the answer. People complained to Don Woods about that last point and the rationale was somethings like points were acquired by gaining treasure and exploring the cave (as explained in the instructions). And leaving the magazine at that location proved you visited it and thus the point. Everyone thought it stunk, but it was his creation ... -dave neves
