Full warp games have started taking too long, so I have started playing a variation with its own challenge. I try to kill all enemies in a single round of a difficulty 50 game. So far I haven't done it, even at low speed. To play this yourself, just say: warp -l -d50 and get ready to move fast (By the way, a few weeks ago I wondered on the net whether there was a magic barrier at 300,000 warp points? I have now broken that barrier and am close to 400,000. It takes some very lucky waves.) -- UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!mark CSNet: mark@umcp-cs ARPA: mark.umcp-cs@UDel-Relay

I'm pushing 600K in warp - avoid losing bases at all costs, use ^Z/^C a lot

Regarding my recent posting saying I was pushing 600K in warp: uh, make that pushing 800K. Congratulations to Larry Wall for creating a remarkably finely tuned game that involves real skill more than luck, the reverse of rogue. Now, if only it was easier to get out of a game in mid-wave... Also it should be possible to ^Z a game and then be able to kill it! We've had several runaway processes that can't be killed by starting up another game.
