Fake id : dgt@purdue Real id : bxk@csnet-purdue Iam interested in knowing if snake is played seriously in any place. If so, what is the highest score in that site ? Here, at Purdue, it is not played seriously and the highest score is 1275 (not mine, sigh). Are most people aware of the oddities in the game (safe places..) ? If interested you can end mail to me at bxk@csnet-purdue or post to net.games By the way, is there a net.games.snake ? Bala Krishnamurthy p.s. I meant send mail, not end mail.. sorry.

Snake used to be played at our site - I have the top score obtained by the standard method, i.e. playing the game in the normal interactive manner at one sitting - 1932. However, a couple of people here developed clever ways to partially automate the snake-playing process by using a program to aid in finding move sequences, and our top score by this technique is a disgusting 3888!?! Apparently at this level the snake makes almost no errors.
