Does anyone know, who or what, the " Wizzard " in rogue is? I stumbled across it one day and nobody I know seems to know anything about it. If you type " ctrl. 0 (zero) " while playing rogue, you will be asked: " Wizzard's password? ". I am really interested in finding out ,who or what, this is! ect...!{ ucbvax, decvax }!trw-unix!bullard Drew D. Bullard

If you give the correct password, you suddenly have more commands at your disposal in the 3.6 version (crtl-p gets the password query). You can create anything you want, teleport whenever you want, drop down to the next level, and "jump" up to a previous level. You are also told when monsters are created. Oh yea, you can identify anything you want to in your pack at any time. I don't knwo about 5.2, but if they have allow for the wizard, then I'm sure he/she could do lots of interesting things. #R:trw-unix:-38200:orstcs:4900001:000:778 orstcs!riley Aug 23 11:59:00 1983 In responce to your question, 5.2 does have the wizard option, assuming the source was compiled with the wizard option. Wizard also allows you to create any type of object you wish, create passages that do not exist, go up in experience levels (increases rogue 9 levels giving it a two-handed long sword (enchanted) and plate armor (giving it AC -5)). One added feature is that once a rogue becomes wizard, his score can no longer be posted in the top ten. Other things that the wizard mode has is that you can print the maze on the level, show monsters movements and creation, tell how much food is left in the rogues "stomach", count the number of items in his pack, along with the normal commands for all rogues.
