- We now have Sail on our system, but no instructions! I am lucky to have played the board game it is patterned after, Wooden Ships and Iron Men. I think I have most of the basics down, but there are still several things that puzzle me. 1.) I defeated a ship so that it struck its colors. In WS&IM this would be the end of the game (there was only one ship for each side in this scenerio). But the computer keep playing. I was not allowed to fire on the ship. It had its colors struck but fight any people that I transfered ( boarded ) to it. What is happening here? How do I end and win the game? 2.) How do I know which way the wind is blowing? How do I tell how strong the wind is? 3.) What of the advanced and optional rules of WS&IM are used in Sail? 4.) In multi-ship scenerios, can I control each of my ship individually and how is this done? 5.) Is there any way to change the time allowed to make a move in? I am connected to the VAX over a network where there can be long network delays at times. 6.) On some of the scenerios, it is indicated that other people are playing in that scenerio. Yet I know for a fact that on this system no one else is playing Sail let alone are playing that scenerio. What is happening here? If there is interest, I will post the result in net.games if I get answers to these questions. Tom Granvold Tymshare Cupertino, California decvax!ucbvax!oliveb!tymix!granvold

How many more times are we going to go through this. Enough already. For the last time (I hope) the instructions can be found in the sail source directory (at least on the 4.2 distribution) in a file called "sail.6". -- From the Tardis of Mark Callow msc@qubix.UUCP, decwrl!qubix!msc@Berkeley.ARPA ...{decvax,ucbvax,ihnp4}!decwrl!qubix!msc, ...{ittvax,amd70}!qubix!msc
