I recently purshased a vectrex machine in the hopes of hooking it up to my Apple II computer. In the meantime, I want to pick up a couple of the games. Since they are still $20 here, and I don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars, can anybody give me their recommendations for favorite / most interesting games? Ratings go from 1 - 10 Game Graphics "Plot" -------------- -------- ------ Pole Position 8 5 Hyperchase 7 3 Spike 8 6 (Voice is okay!) RipOff 5 10 StarCastle 5 10 Narzod 10 10 (HARD!) Polar Rescue 8 8 (Never figured it out) Star Trek TMP 9 9 Animaction 6 6 (Do it yerselfer) Melody Master 7 2 (Doesn't work) The graphics scale represents the sophistication of the graphics. Pole Position, for example, has firly simple graphics that are quite effective. Spike, on the other hand, has some detailed drawings with animation that is "cute" ("Help, Spike!" -- "Ooooohhhhhh Molly!"). Hyperchase has excellent graphics, but there is no point to the game. The "plot" score refers to my evaluation of the point of the game. Melody Master loses tubularly, since I couldn't get the game parts to work. Some games like Hyperchase are neat, but have no "goal" except how many points did you get. They get lower scores. Games like Narzod do well, because there are several levels to go through and it is really tough near the end. BTW, the cartridges are $4.67 US here, and the Machines are going for $45.00 (Suburban St. Louis, Missouri, USA).
