[] Well, the Spring 1901 turn has been successfully completed. Sorry about a short delay in posting this, but there was first a small problem with getting everybody's orders (we had a storm on monday night, and one set of orders got lost and had to be resent) and then a problem with getting onto the system (I wanted to post this yesterday, but I couldn't log on). The problem with lost orders has led me to make a small rule change: When I post the positions, I will set the due date for the next order set. If I do not receive orders from a player, I will attempt to contact him immediately and he will have 24 hours to get his orders in. Of course, if a player takes advantage of this too often, I will change the rule. And now what you've all been waiting for--the Spring 1901 moves: ORDERS FOR SPRING 1901 ---------------------- England: Fleet Edinburg --> Norwegian Sea (succeeds) Fleet London --> North Sea (suc) Army Liverpool --> Yorkshire (suc) France: Army Paris --> Picardy (suc) Army Marseilles --> Spain (suc) Fleet Brest --> Mid Atlantic (suc) Germany: Fleet Kiel --> Denmark (suc) Army Berlin Hold (suc) Army Munich --> Kiel (suc) Italy: Army Venice Hold (suc) Army Rome --> Apulia (suc) Fleet Naples --> Ionian sea (suc) Russia: Fleet St. Petersburg --> Gulf of Bothnia (suc) Army Moscow --> Ukraine (suc) Army Warsaw --> Galicia (suc) Fleet Sevastapol --> Rumania (fail, rebound to Sevastapol) Austria: Fleet Trieste --> Albania (suc) Army Budapest --> Rumania (fail, rebound to Budapest) Army Vienna --> Trieste (^suc) Turkey: Army Constantinople --> Bulgaria (suc) Army Smyrna --> Constantinople (suc) Fleet Ankara --> Black Sea (suc) Therefore, piece positions at the beginning of Fall 1901 are: England: Fleets Norwegian and North Sea. Army Yorkshire Germany: Fleet Denmark, Armies Kiel and Berlin. Austria: Armies Trieste and Budapest, Fleet Albania Russia: Fleets Gulf of Bothnia and Sevastapol, Armies Galicia and Ukraine. France: Armies Picardy and Spain, Fleet Mid-Atlantic Italy: Armies Venice and Apulia, Fleet Ionian Turkey: Armies Bulgaria and Constantinople, Fleet Black Sea That's that! Now, I guess I'll set the due date for next orders at next thursday (the 17th, I believe, but judging by my success on the last date I set, I'm not sure). By the way, I'm sort of interested of making a record of what was going on at any given time. Therefore, if you would care to send me any information you are willing to release (diplomatic mail, general description of strategy, etc), I would love to have it. Obviously, any such information would be kept strictly confidential until the end of the game. -- -- Brian Reynolds {ihnp4|clyde|sdcrdcf}!akgua!jett!brian
