Has anyone picked up Rendezvous with Rama by Trillium Software yet? This game is the first one that I have picked up from what looks like a rather impressive list of sci-fi authors including Arthur C. Clarke, and Alan Dean Foster. It's a large game which covers four disc sides to supply the generous, detailed graphics which can be switched off to speed things up. The parser has it's own flavor which could be somewhat unsettling to a player who is used to the Infocom vocabulary. For instance, 'look' is replaced by 'examine' or 'inspect'. The game is a combination of text adventure and arcade action. Rama has two arcade encounters with two stages each. The encounters represent the initial landing on Rama and the use of the Dragonflies inside Rama, and can be played by keyboard or joystick. Overall, Rendezvous with Rama looks to be a worthy entry into the adventure game market, especially with a list price of $31.95. I'd like to hear if the other titles are as worthwhile. Also, has anyone been able to complete the second stage of the landing on Rama. I can get my ship to what appears to be the logical landing spot, yet nothing happens. I always end up getting pasted by a an asteroid. From the lair of the Big E uw-beaver!ssc-vax!erik Erik
