[ offering to the great god line-eater ] Some information for you Wizrdary players out there. 1. For the person requesting more information on Werdna. There will be no treasure when you kill him. Someone in your party will find an amulet, DO NOT leave the dungeon with it. Everyone in your party gets 250,000 exp. pts.but loses ALL their items and most of their gold. Very bad. If no one in your party finds the amulet, leave and re-enter, Werdna will be there again ( and again, and again). 2. Certain items will restore hit points within the dungeon. A Lord's Garb will restore the hit points of everyone in the party when it's special power is invoked. The number of charges is usually 5. This also applies to the Murshama Blade ( give it to a Samari, up to 4*damage ). It also has about 5 charges. 3. Blades Cusinart` are best for fighters. Increases their damage by about 50%. 4. Most of the really good items ( Blades Cusinart', Plate Mail +2, ect ) are found on level 9, not level 10. It's a good idea to keep your characters on the Proving Grounds until you find as many of the good items as possible and then transfer them. 5. When you do transfer the party, you will have to drop all of the special statuettes (sp?) and ribbons, or Wizardy II will complain. 6. Theives Dagger turns your thief into a Ninja without losing all the abilities he gained as a theif. There are other items that will do this for other character classes. 7. If you do get Werdna's amulet DO NOT invoke it's special power, no more magic. The only way to get your chars out is to recover them with the utilities sub-program. 8. To get off the 10th level, wander until you have an encounter and then cast Malor, 90% of the time you will end up on level 1 ( this also applies to teleporter chests on levels 9 & 10 ), the other 10% you end up somewhere on level 10 and it's easy to get out using one of the teleporters on that level. The above information is correct to the best of my knowledge. I have a party of 19-20th level chars myself ( with a 250th level Bishop, I found out about item 9 by accident on my own ), and have had found the above to be generally correct. I am sending this from a friend's account so mail would be received by him, and he might not like that so please refrain unless you really want to know something about the game. ( a very good friend of mine deciphered the p-code!!!! on both Wizardy I & II so I know all the holes ). Oh yes, the older versions of Wizardry make no use of the 80 column card but print 80 column chars in a 40 column size block so they all look like they have spaces between them. It's not a problem with your card it's the lousy implementation of Pascal apple supports. Del ...!inhp4!tektronix!uoregon!uo-vax1!jeffe
