[net.games] Ultima II help needed.

mdf@trwrba.UUCP (Mark D. Falleroni) (04/17/85)

On Ultima II how do you select which planet your rocket is headed for?
Also, why does my rocket blow up after about 7 seconds of flight?

Thanks in advance for any help given.

     (**SPOILER WARNING!!**)
(**REDUNDANT SPOILER WARNING!!**)

I played and won Ultima ][ about a year ago.
To keep from exploding after taking off, you need
to be wearing a Power Suit (space is a vaccuum,
remember).

Of all the planets, the only ones you NEED to know are Earth
and Planet X. In case you mis-launch, the co-ordinates of earth
are in big big numbers in the river by the Russian spaceport.
All the information about planet X can be found in a town in
Panagea.

(**SPOILER NOW!!**)

Using Beagle Bros. Byte Zap, I thumbed throught the Galactic Disk
and found the co-ordinates for the other planets.

PLANET XENO YAKO ZABO
------ ---- ---- ----
Mercury 5 4 5
Venus 3 3 4
Earth 6 6 6
Mars 6 2 3
Jupiter 1 3 4
Saturn 2 8 5
Uranus 9 4 6
Neptune 4 0 5
Pluto 0 1 4
Planet X 9 9 9

I think the Sun is at 3,3,3 ... just try not to jump places besides
those above, there aren't any other places to go.

Oh, yes....every jump uses up one tri-lithium. You might misjump,
which will place you randomly. Just try again.

When you land on a planet, the ground will whisk by below your ship.
Press any key when you want to land. It seems you can only land
safely on grass (plains)...otherwise you die immediately.

Happy travels!

One: It should tell you how to hyper-space in the manual.
	(DONT YOU HAVE A MANUAL)

I don't know why it blows up after seven seconds.

*** SPOILER ***
Hyper-jump to 9-9-9

first of all, have you explored level 16? remember, lithium packs the 16th
level!

To find out just about anything, make sure you talk to everyone you see.

To tell your rocket where to go, tell it the x, y, and z coordinates of
the planet you want to visit. Earth is 6,6,6. There is also a planet 'x'
which you must find to win.

Am I the only one who buys my games??

I have a need for any help in Ultima II. I have not really been able to
get anywhere significant. The stumbling blocks I have hit are:

	1) I can't find any keys to get into the locked areas.
	2) I can't get to some areas of the maps without water or air
transport and I can't get any (need keys?)
	3) I can't get anywhere in Legends. (I've made a couple of fast runs
when I had a lot of stuff. Something protected me partially from
	   the spells)
