On the subject of wargames, I have played Squad Leader,
but I have not played the other gamettes in the series:
Cross of Iron, Crescendo of Doom and G. I. Anvil of
Victory.  I saw an anouncement the other day that AH is
coming out with Advanced Squad Leader during Origins '85.
Could anybody who obtained a copy of this give a synopsis
of the game: specifically, do I have to throw out my SL
game and buy a new one.  Will it work with the other
gamettes?  WHAT IS ASL?

RE: Advanced Squad Leader

From what I hear Advanced Squad Leader will be a book containing the most
up-to-date rules for the 4 Squad Leader games (SL,COI,COD,GIAV).  The system
introduced in Squad Leader evolved with each new game and under-went some
major changes with GI Anvil of Victory.  There were more changes planed and
a concise (144+ pages?) rule book promised.  I think ASL will be this book.
