I just wanted to tell the world that I have the same problem that
john@moncol.UUCP has: I'm stuck on the planet and can't open the hatch
I personally think that you need to get Ford's satchel in and onto the
mesh floor(it's probably the only thing that won't fall through) however
it's got stuff in it and won't fit through the entrance to the hatchway
repair room. If it could, you could put the toolbox on top of it, and then
put each tool in it - sounds good, huh? Please someone help and post it here
so everyone inthe world can see the answer. Thanks a lot in advance.

In order to know which tool that Marvin will want, you have to eat the fruit
from the tree of foreknowledge. This does involve using the satchel in some
ocapacity when you are in the Ford miniadventure. It also involves the "thing"
and the sauna. That should be enough hints to get you through.

Sounds great. It is, of course, wrong (the correct thing is usually easy
to do). You need to take a trip to the belly of the whale. You do this
the way you take any trip. Don't be fooled by missing sense into thinking
you are in a familiar spot. Put what you find there into your aunt's gift.
