I posted this request to net.startrek a little bit ago, and my sysop chided
me for it. (Wrong group by convention....) I know the game is relatively
new, but does anyone have any small hints on "The Kobiyashi Alternative?"
My situation is this: Computer Data has been taken on all planets, as have
all the various scans.... Beamdowns have been made (where possible) and
have even killed me a few times. The shuttlecraft is presently inoperable,
and irreparably damaged (***Spoiler**** It started out that way.*Spoiler****)
Contrary to the Mission Manual, I have yet to encounter *any* lifeforms on
*any* planet. The one vessel I have encountered (in the Orna system)
does not answer hails, and is too fast for us to pursue.
(****SPOILER**** There are life readings behind Orna's Northern Range, but
I can't establish a beamdown point there....(no known coords.) and it is of
course unclimbable.....*****SPOILER*****)
Every attempt I have made to step outside the parameters of the original
command list has failed, as have all requests for information from Spock,
and all attempts at mixing known parameters. Any additional commands
that have met with success would be appreciated tremendously. What
do you use to break out of orbit, for example?
In short "what am I doing wrong?".....
Please mail your responses if they are more than one "action" long....
I "n" past spoilers anyway, and I'm sure a lot of others do too.
