Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Research Assistant at the
University College of Swansea to participate in a collaborative programme of
research on computer networks and distributed processing undertaken jointly
by the University and the Harwell Research Laboratory.

The research will be conducted primarily at Harwell, near Didcot, Oxfordshire
and will be directed to the design of communication protocols and system
software to monitor and supervise distributed information processing in both
local and wide area networks.

Applicants should have a good degree in computer science, electronic
engineering or a closely related discipline together with two or three years
relevant postgraduate experience. The appointment is available for three years
from the 1st May 1985 or an agreed date thereafter. Starting salary will be
at an appropriate point within the range 7,520 to 12,150 (Pounds Sterling)
per annum.
