I am building up a collection of several thousand documents typically used in the electronic office. It would seem a good idea to divide the collection into sub-categories according to document type. Does anyone know of any work done on identifying different document types which might be used as category identifiers eg. Letters, Memos, Reports etc. Any references will be greatly appreciated.
