what do you feel is(are) the most important outstanding questions in the
area of mathematics are?

The most important question in mathematics today is :

	"How do you get the answer without having to go through
	 all of the work?"

(sometimes asked as : "How do I get a degree in Computer Science without
 having to learn all of this damn math that I may never see again, if
 I'm lucky?" (by the way, I almost answered this one myself))
