<i want a new bug> An article in this month's issue of Parachutist lists all the things that can go wrong with hand-deploy pilot chutes and suggests that maybe people should go back to ripcords for their main parachutes. I wonder if anyone else shares my reaction to this idea, which is to take away the author's square and make him jump a nice, reliable, proven 24-foot twill. Of course people can have horrible screwups with hand-deploys. That's because some people will have trouble with *any* possible system. I could post some ripcord horror stories ... Seriously, read the article. It is worth listening to, even if you disagree. Fred Wamsley tektronix!uw-beaver!ssc-vax!alcmist P.S.
