     I sent a message directly to Gene to request that this group not be
terminated, and he sent back the following reply:

Thank you for your mail.

Forgive me for answering with a form letter, but I have been receiving
over 50 letters a day on the general topic of removing newsgroups, and
I do not have time to answer each letter individually.

I am keeping track of people's comments and concerns as expressed in
these letters.  In a few days I will summarize the comments into
one article and post it to "net.news.group" for everyone to see.

Of the 14 groups I listed as candidates for removal, it appears that
4 or 5 still have a netwide audience, although those audiences are
not very active posters.  Rest assured that I will not be deleting
any of those groups -- I simply wanted to see if anyone cared about
them.  The ones that people have not commented on, however, appear
to be likely candidates for removal.
