[net.games.frp] What is this, anyway?

will (10/09/82)

I've been reading 'net.games' for quite a while now, but I've nver
seen ....frp. What is this group for? And what does 'frp' mean?

Also, could anyone clue me in as to what this AD&D thing is that
everyone talks about? Is it normal, everyone crowd around the
table while the DM puts us thru a dungeon in one night Advanced
D&D from TSR Games? Or is it computer-operated?

				Thanks, Will D.

FRP is one of the common TLA's (Three Letter Acroynms) for the Fantasy
Role-Playing hobby, usually meaning Fantasy games of the group first popularized
by D&D but often used as a shorthand for the entire role-playing gaming command.

The AD&D is indeed the TSR gaming product; AD_D is a rogue like game which
was designed to be more AD&D-like. I haven't gotten my copy yet so I can not
give more details.
