**UNFORTUNATELY**, d&d (I'm not as familiar with ad&d, I never found it worth learning) does realize something you seem to have overlooked about armour; some armour vs weapon combinations *increase* the damage the player recieves (in "real life"), most notably the hammer vs chainmail (chainmail "unwinds" inflicting horrible wounds). But, as typical for good old "if you won't come to our convention, why should we come to yours?" tsr/godgax/ad&d I have seen no less than 5 "official", cumbersome charts for representing this. We usually ignore the effect for simplicity. Rich Magill
