One thing I noticed about the new D&D cartoon show is the absence of the Thief and Cleric classes. The only classes left from original D&D were the Fighter(ranger) and Magic-User. In their places were the barbarian and cavalier ( both subclasses of Fighters, I believe ) and the acrobat ( A subclass of Thief ). All three of these new classes have been written up in the Dragon magazine under E. Gary Gygax's byline in the last year or so. They will probably appear in a future release of AD&D. I wonder if the appearance of these new classes is due to a desire to clean up D&D for the Moral Majority types who would be offended by characters on TV who make a living by stealing, or by characters who go around praying to strange Ghods and performing miracles? The loss of the thief is understandable, I suppose, but the Cleric? After all, aren't the religious networks full of preachers who heal people after praying to their God? The Cleric would seem a natural for them! Phil Polli BTL Naperville ihuxl!pvp
