Round 1(surprise round): "I, <supply name>, a mere rogue(L-1 thief), grow weary of toying with you, Orcus. Turn aroung and face your master before I destroy you." Round 2(you win initiative): As Orcus turns in rage, make use of your first magic item(amulet of the planes) to instantly transfer yourself to another plane leaving in your wake the absolute destruction of Orcus and any or all retainers with him. How might you ask do I accomplish this? Well, you'll notice that I neglected to mention my choice for the other four magic items. They play a very important part in this greatest upset of all time. You see, I left all four of them behind. Do you follow me yet? No? Well, two of the items were rods of cancellation which I dropped a second before departing the scene of eminent victory. Have I taken leave of my senses? Is Orcus going to hunt me down and make me pay for my insolence? Of course not! Picture this: Each of the rods falls into a sphere of annihilation. The battle is over assuming I can roll greater than or equal to 12 on 6d4(6 four sided dice) which is extremely likely. I am victorious and alive. Full bonus points for humiliating Orcus during my surprise round and only using five items and no potion. If a rod of cancellation comes in contact with a sphere of annihilation an explosion results causing 30-120(3d4*10) points of damage in a radius of 60 feet. There is no saving throw allowed. The explosion is not of a magical natureso magic resistance doesnt apply. Orcus is left totally helpless. Of course you must time it right to make sure Orcus doesnt have time to teleport away. Some comments regarding other solutions I've seen: 1)It takes 1 full round for a potion to take effect. So there goes your free surprise round. 2)There is no chance of spell failure by casting a spell off of a ring of spell storing which by the way takes 5 segments to cast. Any character class may use this item. Also no other action is allowed during this round.
