[net.games.frp] "if any of you are interested"

This group is underused, so let's not be shy! A quick look at the busier
newsgroups should banish any thoughts of "wasting space".

Yes, let us see your NPCs! Let's share interesting stories, too.
And how about those of you who have spent months figuring out complex
political structures for your worlds?

Taking my own advice:
Has anyone read "Saturn Game" by Poul Anderson? In this short
story, the astronauts play a sort of frp without any GM! What holds
it together is simple cooperation and true enjoyment.
My sister frp's in a similar method, with the addition of
whatever props pop up and secretive scurrying about the town at night.
I found it works very well, and i wonder why so many gamers are
"rule bound". I like being a GM, but my rules are shorter than the
original D&D pamphlets.
The only problem they have noted is that sometimes the characters
will sneak out in public places; this can be very embarassing, and in
"The Saturn Game" proves dangerous. In fact, one particularly feisty
character almost caused real trouble with a policeman trying to give a
speeding ticket!

But of course, the characters are just part of a game. Right?
