Before I enter my next comment, to ...pur-ee!Pucc-I@ruq : your mail got burbled about minatures augmenting "frp". Try again if you wish. Onto more interesting things. Sho Nuff, my favorite character, is a Dwarf fighter and has just achieved 9th level (AD&D). At this point he can normally advance no further , but he found a magical item which en- ables him to keep advancing in levels (ie it removes racial limitations). My topic of discussion is this: Dwarves dislike magic, but they are also rather greedy. Would a dwarf, in greed for glory, use magic to augment himself? Would other dwarves shun him if this were learned? I ask this so that I can gain some more insight into the dwarven race, so that I can role-play more effectively. Any comments, derision, etc welcome... ...tektronix!tekig!richa Sho Nuff Dwarven Lord of the Eastern Reach

I think that your normal, healthy dwarf could not resist such an item, especially since race restrictions are such a blow to pride. Of course, he would hate the thing with a passion, because it is magic and because it has tempted him into doing something "unnatural". This will lead to some wonderful play. Hope he doesn't go mad, like Gollum did. Did it ever occur to you that this might be the working of a particularly subtle curse? B<
