ections of magic armor, rings of protection, and cloaks of protection are NOT cumulative. A +4 cloak of protection and a +3 ring of protection gives +7 on saves but only +4 on AC. 2) The scenario you ran with the golem and vampire sounds like the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth. If it is, then the vampire Drelnza was probably not run to her full potential. Consider this: vampires are base AC 1; with +3 plate mail this becomes AC -9. Also, she would know how to use the Lanthorn. 3) Use this alternative to the two weapons rule (I use it, too): Your right-handed weapon is your primary, the left-handed is your secondary (or vice versa if you're left-handed). The secondary weapon only gets a chance to strike if the primary misses; otherwise it acts as a shield. I came up with this after a 9th lvl fighter in my world with a +4 longsword, +2 hand axe (9th level) and 18/99 strength began to act like La Machine. 4) Has this character ever stepped on the toes of a powerful NPC who is still alive (or maybe was raised after the incident)? Revenge is sweet... 5) Another thing you can do if that module was the Lost Caverns; have someone come after the Demonomicon; the book's description predicts something like this would happen. Something like a nycadaemon with a couple of decent items would provide a reasonable challenge. 6) Try running the character in the "D" series of modules. They're NASTY if done right.
