I seem to remember seeing a large dicussion of of saving-throws and magic- resistance here lately, mostly dealing with the kill-ORCUS contest. The latest Dragon (TM of our friends at TSR) has an article on the subject. It bothered me a bit that noone seemed to take responsibility for the article so I doubt that it is 'official.'
