In a prior submission, I made the comment that the rules for Tensor's Floating Disk only imply that the caster cannot ride his own disk. I was wrong. The DMG, in the Character Spell Explanations section, clearly states, and I quote, "the caster cannot ride his own disk". I made the mistake of posting "in the heat of the moment" after only checking the Player's Handbook. As for Steve Maurer's plan for boxing a basilisk, I checked the Monster Manual for information on the basilisk and found that its size is 7' long (and it has six legs). I doubt that a web spell would be able to hold it down for long; furthermore, even if his plan succeeds, hauling a 7' reptile around in a box would be difficult (note: I did not say impossible, just difficult). A further note on Xorns: the MM says if the battle appears to be going against the Xorn, it will rearrange its molecular structure and escape by passing through stone. The ONLY way to kill it in this state is to cast a "Phase Door" spell on it, and it will die instantly. So, as I stated in the previous submission, Steve Maurer's DM wasn't handling that Xorn very well to allow that trick with Feather Fall and the Owl to work. It appears from Steve's submissions that he hasn't read much (if any) of the DMG, nor is he very familiar with the MM (and neither is his DM). Doug Burton ATT-CP Indianapolis inuxg!burton
