If the right kind of promises are made (be careful, even if she IS a fanatic), most reasonable GM's will give a bonus to any roll for your deity's attention (or that of one of her minions). In fact, if your character's role is important to the game, it may be that your GM has exactly such a thing in mind (it looks that way to me) -- the deity's intervention will probably be something subtle like a brilliant idea popping into your head, or one of your friends happening by at an unlikely moment, etc. If all else fails, you will have to get angry and take matters into your own hands. Your best bet is probably to rely on the mistaken assumption that your captors may make -- that because the character is a female, she probably isn't much of a threat. If you can keep tricks up your sleeves, and not let them know exactly what you're capable of, etc., that is to your advantage. Of course, being LG is a disadvantage in this case, but nobody asked her to lie -- just don't give any more info than is necessary. Another suggestion: once you get loose (it's a good possibility), you should head for your main church -- you know, your bosses nearby -- and tell them about the plot. It's always fun to give the GM an excuse to cause a war or revolution. Of course, you may end up being sent out on a quest or something, but that's what the game's all about, right? Good luck, and keep us posted. Marion Hakanson CSnet: hakanson@oregon-state UUCP : {hp-pcd,teklabs}!orstcs!hakanson
