I will not openly say for I believe that takes some of the fun out of the adventure but a hint is: Remember how you were able to across another wide chasm. If anyone still has problems leave a message and I will respond. An interesting monster that I had the misfortune to encounter with a small party was one called I believe the Quadmire. It was an being that was more like a visibal presence. When attacked it would counter by attacking from all octents of 3d space i.e. right and left front and back above and below for about 3-24 with high hit dice and unfortunately magic resistance (always helps reduce the imbalance of high level spell casters) it was a mean fight.
