------- One thing that's kept me from getting interested in games like zork is the long sequence of commands you have to put in at the beginning of each trial, until you get to the point where you can try something new (around the back of the house, into the window, into the living room, get the lantern, light the lantern, move the rug, etc., etc.). Is there any way to put this initial series of commands into some kind of script and execute it automatically, with control passing back to the keyboard at the end of the script?

Try putting the initial commands in th file "commands" and then do "cat commands - | zork" ... Wayne

I gather my reply to the above referenced article was truncated.
Here it is again. As you can see it started with the infamous
blank or tab. I though enough sites had fixed the bug that
it wasn't a problem any more.

Try saving a game after you get into the cave. Then you can always
restart from there.
