Stone's major qualification is experience, nearly 40 years in the State Legislature, and one term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Born and raised in Upper New York, a veteran of WW II, 60 years old next February. Stone's campaign has received massive donations from business interests and rich friends, as well as the National committee. As well he is using substantial amounts of his own personal fortune in his quest for the governorship. He is campaigning on his experience, portraying both Day and Edwards as young idealists who have no idea how or why government works. There was also an infamous TV ad by The Committee to elect Stone for Governor that intercut clips of Linda Day's rallies with clips of 30's rallies in Germany, closing with "Know who you're voting for." Day's supporters wanted to counter with an ad intercutting her rallies with FDR's New York rallies in the 30's. She vetoed the idea, preferring to run on her own merits. Stone believes that Supervillians present a threat to the very fabric of American Society, and must be dealt with. It's certainly true that they're threatening to send insurance rates in New York City sky high. Stone is very pro-business and anti-crime; an experienced politician in every sense of the word. He has been married for 35 years, and has 3 children and a pet terrier.
